Bad Weather Projects is a Faroese documentary film production company founded by filmmakers Durita Sumberg, Anny Leo Thorsen and Búi Dam. Based in the Faroe Islands—eighteen small islands lying isolated in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, where the circumstances for filmmaking are challenging and the support of mainland Europe is far away— we are all about hard work, creative solutions, and pure passion. Our work is driven by a commitment to creating high-quality, innovative documentary cinema that is entertaining, thought-provoking, and socially engaged. We are particularly passionate about working for and with underrepresented communities. We aim to give a voice to those who are seldom heard.
Our focus is on producing short documentaries ranging from one to thirty minutes in length, while also co-producing feature-length documentary projects.
Bad Weather Projects also hosts the Rainy Days Lab and the Sneaky Fog Film Fest.
